Still Not Home

Dorothy became enamored with the fields of flowers as she journeyed to see the wizard. However, her fascination with the beauty nearly killed her. Sometimes we indulge in these beautiful fields and nearly meet our fate when we realize that we'd much prefer to be home instead. Something about the comfort of our own home and the friendly faces, which surround us far surpass the dangerous beauty of a poppy field.

This is one of three pieces that I just submitted to a show called Ozspirations; hence, the The Wonderful Wizard of Oz inspiration. Since I was born and raised in Kansas, I really had an affinity to create something special for this show. Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope that one or more of my artworks get accepted.
