This painting was created in 2003. I was getting a lot of visual exposure to my husband's lab where he was researching infectious diseases. The microorganisms that he examines each day are visually stimulating to me, which heavily influenced this particular painting. Prior to moving to Boston, I donated this painting to the lab where he completed his pHd, the laboratory of Dr. Paul D. Fey at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
