I've donated four pieces to this auction, which takes place Thursday evening from 6 - 8 pm in Davis Square. Groundwork Somerville is an organization based in Somerville, MA and strives to bring about the sustained regeneration, improvement and management of the physical environment through the development of community-based partnerships which empower people, businesses and organizations to promote environmental, economic and social well-being. The organization is an affiliate of Groundwork USA, a network of organizations created by the National Park Service and modeled after the successful network of 43 Groundwork organizations in the United Kingdom.
Groundwork Somerville works with a number of schools in the community and has a collaborative Gardening community of six groups working together in Cambridge and Somerville to bring more locally grown foods into the lives of kids and families. I think the organization sounds brilliant, and if you'd like an opportunity to support their community and my artistic endeavors, join them for the auction tomorrow night.
