Danny Mansmith and I are two etsy artists who met virtually in 2005. In fact, we first crossed one another's paths through etsy. (That was back in the day when etsy was just getting started.) We have been communicating about art and life through the world wide web from that point on.
Our friendship was strengthened when we met in "real life" for the very first time last week. Neither one of us are from New York City, nor had we ever spent much time there. But it was a great place to meet, to have an art show together, to simply hang out. We're both from the Midwest, and it was sort of funny that we had to meet in the Big Apple. Of course, it was for a good reason... we had our first ART show together in NYC.
I'm sure that if you been reading my ART journal you already know that we completed six collaborations just for the Pens and Needles Exhibition, and we displayed approximately sixty original works of art in Jeanine Alfieri's Fountainhead Gallery. The show goes on until June 22, so if you just happen to be in the area, you should swing by the space. (It does make life a bit simpler if you contact Jeanine first, or if you have questions about the show, e-mail me.)
